Ready to get started? We've put together a guide to set up your first site below. If you have yet to purchase the Podcast Websites package, you can do so on our main site

Create a Podcast Website

Once you have a Podcast Websites package, you can begin creating your site. Follow these steps to set up your podcast website.

Step 1: Set Up WordPress

Setting up WordPress is your first step in the process. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Account Control Center (ACC) account
  2. In the left sidebar, click WordPress
  3. In the drop-down, select Create Site
  4. On the next page, fill out the details for your new site:
Email AddressThis email address will be used as the admin email for the new WordPress site. It will receive website notifications, so be sure to use an email address you monitor.
Site NicknameThis is a name to help differentiate this website from others you may create on your hosting account. This name will not be visible anywhere on your website.
Site TitleThis is a name that your site will display for all visitors to see. Don't worry - you can change this name later in your WordPress settings.
  1. Choose the domain you want the site to be created on. Not sure which one to choose? Take a look at the scenarios below and choose the one that best fits you:

I have already registered a domain and added it to my hosting account.
If you have already added a domain to your account, you can select the Use a domain you're already hosting option, then select your domain from the drop-down.

I do not have a domain or I haven't added the domain to my hosting account.
If you want to use a custom domain, like libsyn.com or pair.com, you can register a domain at pairdomain.com. You can then choose the Host a New Domain That You Own option and enter your new domain. This will add the domain to your hosting account.

I want to create a test website.
If you don't have a domain yet and just want to create a test website, you can use a free pairsite subdomain. Just choose either the Automatic pairsite.com subdomain or Custom pairsite subdomain option
  2. Click the Create button

The server will install WordPress on your chosen domain (or subdomain). This may take a few minutes. Once the installation is complete, you will be transferred to a page with your admin credentials and login link. Make sure to take note of your username and password. You will need these to log in.

Step 2: Sign in to Your WordPress Installation

Your login link will be displayed with your login credentials when you first create the WordPress site. Use this link to return to your WordPress login page.

If you did not save the link to your login page, you can instead follow these steps to find the link:

  1. Log into the Account Control Center (ACC)
  2. Click WordPress in the left sidebar, then click List Sites
  3. Click Go to Admin Panel to the right of your desired site

This will return you to the WordPress login screen for this WordPress installation. You can either go to this URL directly or repeat the steps above to access this page.

Once you have arrived on the WordPress login page, enter the login credentials given to you at installation. This will log you into your new WordPress site.

Step 3: Install a Pair Podcast Exclusive Theme

Once you have logged in to your WordPress site, you can begin setting up your podcast site. The first step is to turn on one of the Pair exclusive podcast themes.

The exclusive themes will format your site in a way that complements your podcast and its episodes.

To see what each theme looks like:

  1. In the left sidebar, click Appearance
  2. Hover over the name of the theme you want to preview
  3. Click the Live Preview button

This will transport you to a page that shows you what your site will look like with this theme. Keep in mind that if you haven't added any content yet, it may look a bit sparse.

When you find the theme you like, click the Activate button (or Activate and Publish if you're in a Live Preview).

See our Exclusive Themes article for more information about our exclusive Podcast Websites themes.

Our Pair Podcast Import tool links your podcast to your new WordPress site. Once linked, the Pair Podcast Import tool can automatically create new posts for each podcast episode.

See our Pair Podcast Importer article for specific instructions to set up.
