How to Redeem Your Domain from the June 2019 Bundle Promo

Congratulations on your new hosting account! If you just redeemed our bundle promo, you get a free one-year .com domain name registration or transfer. Read below for instructions on how to complete the redemption process.

The instructions may will vary based on the account you signed up for, so be sure to choose the tutorial that fits your new account:

• WP Hosting Account
• Shared, VPS, or Dedicated Account

The free domain credit can be applied to a new domain name or an existing one. If you choose to apply it to an existing domain name, you will need to transfer the domain to Pair Domains, our domain registrar. For instructions on how to this is done, see the Applying Free Credit to an Existing Domain section for your account type:

• Transferring a domain to a WP Hosting Account
• Transferring a domain to a Shared, VPS, or Dedicated Account

It's important to choose the correct account type. Otherwise, the instructions will not work.

Redeeming Your Free Domain on WP Hosting Accounts

To redeem your free domain, follow these instructions:

1. Log in to your new account
2. In the left sidebar, click Add Ons, then select Register a New Domain Name from the drop-down
3. Next to Domain Name, enter your desired domain name, then click Proceed
4. Select a registration period, then click Proceed
   

   Keep in mind that only the first year is included for free. Any additional years will result in a normal charge.

5. Select whether or not you are a pair Domain's customer already, then click Proceed
6. If you are not yet a Pair Domains customer, you will need to complete the steps to create an account. If you already have a Pair Domains account, sign in.
   
   

   Note that Pair Domains is separate from Pair Networks, so the login will not be the same as your ACC login credentials.  

7. On the next page, you can select additional, similar domain names for registration. If not, click No Thanks, Proceed
   
   

   Please note that additional domains added in this step will not be free.

   
   
8. If you signed up for more than 1 year, enter your payment information. If you only registered for one year, you can skip this step
9. Click Submit Registration

Once the process is complete, the domain will be registered to you and will be available for use with a WordPress site. Find out how to create a WordPress site here.

Applying the Free Credit to an Existing Domain on WP Hosting

To apply the free credit to an existing domain, you need to transfer the domain to our domain registrar, Pair Domains.

Make Sure Your Domain is Transferable

The first step to do this is to make sure your domain name is transferable. Many domain registrars give you the ability to turn off transfers for domains so no one can steal your domain. However, if transfers are disabled for this domain, you will not be able to transfer it to Pair Domains and redeem your free year. See your specific domain registrar for details.

Transferring the Domain

Once you have confirmed that your domain can be transferred, you need to initiate the domain transfer to Pair Domains. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your account
2. In the left sidebar, click WordPress and then click Manage Domains in the drop-down
3. Underneath the list of domains, click the Transfer a domain to Pair Domains link
   
   

   Be sure this is a .com domain. Other TLDs (like .org or .net) will not work with the free domain credit and will require payment.
   

4. In the Domain Name field, enter the domain name you want to transfer, then click Proceed
5. Next, select whether you have an existing Pair Domains account. If you don’t, it will take you through the process of setting one up. If you do, log in
6. Once you have signed in or created an account, check the box that says you have read and agreed to the Domain Name Registration Agreement
7. Click Submit Transfer

Redeeming Your Free Domain on Non-WP Hosting Accounts

To register a new domain for free, follow these instructions:

1. Log in to the ACC
2. In the left sidebar, click Domains
3. Click Register a New Domain Name in the drop-down
4. Enter the desired domain name next to Enter Domain Name and click Proceed
5. If the domain name is available, you will progress to the next stage. If the domain is not available, enter a new domain name into the text field
6. On the next page, select a registration period, then click Proceed
   
   

   Keep in mind that only the first year is included for free. Any additional years will result in a normal charge.

   
   
7. Select whether or not you are a pair Domain's customer already, then click Proceed
8. If you are not yet a Pair Domains customer, you will need to complete the steps to create an account. If you already have a Pair Domains account, sign in.
