You can delete files and directories directly in the Account Control Center (ACC). No need to log into your FTP client to connect remotely. You can remove the file right from your hosting account interface.

The process for deleting files and directories are not the same. Click on your desired tutorial to see it's steps:

Deleting Files in the ACC Interface

Deleting files can help you clean up unwanted files and free up disk space on your hosting account. However, the method outlined below only shows you how to delete one file at a time. If you wish to delete multiple files at a time, you can do so by using an SFTP client.

To delete single files in the Account Control Center (ACC), follow these steps:

Choose the tutorial that reflects your ACC interface type:

  • Legacy Interface
  • New ACC Interface

Not sure what the difference is? See Which ACC Interface Am I Using?

If you are using the Legacy Interface:

  1. Log in to the Account Control Center (ACC)
  2. Click Files in the left sidebar
  3. In the drop-down, click the name of the directory where the file is located:
    • Home: the home directory holds all files and directories
    • Web: the web directory holds all website files and directories
  4. Navigate to the file and click on the file’s name under the Name column

File names are indicated by gray page icons.file image

  5. In the page navigation bar, click Delete
  6. Confirm the deletion by clicking the Delete button

If successful, you will be returned to the directory page and a success banner will display.

If you are using the New ACC Interface:

  1. Log in to the Account Control Center (ACC) at my.pair.com
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Files
  3. Navigate to the file(s) you want to delete. Files are indicated by the gray file icon.
  4. Toggle on the Delete option for the file(s)
  5. Click the Delete Selected button in the toolbar
  6. Confirm the deletion by clicking the Delete button

Deleting Directories in the ACC Interface

Deleting unused directories can help clean up your Web or Home directories, as well as free up disk space.

To delete single directories in the Account Control Center (ACC), follow these steps:

Choose the tutorial that reflects your ACC interface type:

  • Legacy Interface
  • New ACC Interface

If you are using the Legacy Interface:
