Editing a Page with Pair Site Builder

Requirements- A Managed WordPress account
- A Pair Site Builder site
At the end of this tutorial:You will understand the basics of page editing in Pair Site Builder

Pair Site Builder uses WordPress, a content management system (CMS). We may refer to WordPress and direct you to WordPress resources in this tutorial. 

When you first created your site, Pair Site Builder asked you to choose pages to include. Based on your answers, Pair Site Builder creates template versions of your chosen pages. All you need to do is change the information to match your site. 

Accessing Existing Pages

To edit your pages, you must first open the editor for your page. To do this: 

  1. Log in to your Pair Site Builder interface. See Logging in to Your Pair Site Builder Site
  2. In the left sidebar, click the Pages tab
  3. In the Title column, click the name of the page you want to edit

This will open the page’s editor. 

Editing Pages in Pair Site Builder

Once you have accessed your page editor, you can begin editing. Pair Site Builder comes equipped with a few helpful tools you can use: 

  • Blocks
  • Pre-designed Blocks
  • Page Settings
  • AIOSEO Settings

Block Basics

Pair Site Builder uses building blocks to create your site pages. WordPress includes a number of different content block types that encompass text, media, design, and more. You can add and rearrange these blocks to build the perfect page. See the following block tutorials for more information: 

You can edit each block’s individual settings by clicking the block, then either using the toolbar that appears or clicking on the Block tab in the sidebar. 

No sidebar? Click the button to display or hide the sidebar. 

Adding Pre-Designed Blocks to Your Page with the Design Library

Pair Site Builder offers a robust design library filled with pre-designed blocks you can easily add to your page. 

Adding a Design to Your Page

  1. At the top of the page, click the Design Library button
  2. Scroll through the different designs you can add to your page
  3. Click on a design to add it to your page

You can narrow down the results by the Site Type and Design Type fields in the right sidebar. 

Removing a Design to Your Page

To remove a design from your page:

  1. Click the design in the page editor
  2. In the toolbar that appears, click the icon
  3. In the drop-down, click Delete

This will remove the design from your page. 

Using Page Settings

The left sidebar of the page editor contains the page and block settings. To access the page’s settings, click the Page tab.

No sidebar? Click the button to display or hide the sidebar. 

SummaryThe Summary tab holds the following settings:

Visibility: Choose between public, private, or password protected visibility for your page.
Publish: Select a date and time to publish your page. Choose a date in the future to schedule the page publication for a future date. 
Template: Select a template for your page. 
URL: Enter a “permalink” into the field to edit the ending of your page’s URL.

Author: Select the author of the page. Depending on your chosen site theme, the author may be displayed on the page.

Note: The author must have a user account. See WordPress User Roles and Capabilities.

Switch to Draft button: If published, click this button to return the page to an unpublished draft mode.

Move to Trash button:  Click this button to delete the page.
MontersInsightsPair Site Builder includes MonsterInsights, a Google Analytics plugin, making it easy to integrate Google Analytics into your site.

The MonsterInsights tab contains the following settings:

Exclude page from Google Analytics Tracking: Toggle this option on if you do not want the page to be included in your Google Analytics tracking. 

Show Page Insights: Click this button to show your page statistics. Note: This is a feature for MonsterInsights Pro users, which is not included with Pair Site Builder. 

Add a Site Note: Toggle this option on to add a site note when publishing the page. 
AIOSEOPair Site Builder includes AIOSEO, an SEO plugin, making it easy to manage your site’s SEO (search engine optimization). 

The AIOSEO tab holds a variety of SEO details that shows how your page’s SEO performs. 

Scroll to the bottom of the page editor to view in-depth AIOSEO settings. See AIOSEO documentation for an in-depth explanation of all of AIOSEO’s features. 
Featured ImageThe Featured Image tab allows you to upload a featured image for the page. Depending on your chosen site design, the featured image may be displayed on the page or in other site locations.
DiscussionThe Discussion tab holds settings to allow or disallow comments on your page. 
Page AttributesThe Page Attributes tab holds the following settings: 

Parent: Select a parent page for the current page. This will set the page as a “child” page of the chosen parent page and may affect how it appears in other website locations. 

Order: Assign the page a numerical value that will affect how the page appears in lists with other pages. 

AIOSEO Settings

AIOSEO is a WordPress plugin included with Pair Site Builder. By using AIOSEO, you can optimize your site for search engines. 

You can find the AIOSEO settings for your page by scrolling to the bottom of the page editor. The AIOSEO Settings section allows you to manage a variety of SEO settings for your page. See AIOSEO documentation for an in-depth explanation of all of AIOSEO’s features.
