Customizing Media Players on Podcast Websites
Our Podcast Websites accounts offer a few ways you can customize your media player.
Finding the Media Player Customization Settings
- Log in to your WordPress admin interface. The admin interface is typically found at https://yoursite.com/wp-admin
- In the left sidebar, hover over the Podcast Import tab
- In the drop-down, click Advanced Settings
Media Player Customizations
Once you arrive at the Advanced Settings page in your WordPress admin interface, you can begin to customize your media player. We'll cover the different sorts of customizations you can make below.
Media Player Style and Color
There are a variety of media player styles. Once you're in the Podcast Import > Advanced Settings interface, you can select different media player styles by going to the Player Settings section, then selecting the drop-down next to Player Skin.
Host Player
The Host media player takes on a certain style based on your podcast host. This media player style usually only allows for one color customization.
This type of media player works with the following hosts:
- Libsyn
- Anchor
- Buzzsprout
- Captivate
- Simplecast
- Transistor
Simple Player
This no-nonsense media player strips away all the extras. In its place, you're left with a simplified media player. This media player offers three different color customization options.
Advanced Block Player
The Advanced Block media player adds more space and information to the media player, especially compared to the simplified media player. It also supports three color customization options.
