This article also includes information about the support resources and Web hosting account maintenance features you can expect at Pair Networks.<\/p>\n<h3>Web Server Information<\/h3>\n<p>Your web server name can be found in your Welcome Message or in the <a href=\"https:\/\/my.pair.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Account Control Center (ACC)<\/a>. To find the web server in the ACC:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Log in to your account at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/my.pair.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">my.pair.com<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find the \u201cAccount Summary\u201d section<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your web server is listed next to \u201cWeb Server:\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Adding a Domain Name<\/h3>\n<p>Domain names can be added to your website hosting account through the <a href=\"https:\/\/my.pair.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Account Control Center<\/a>. For information on Domain Name Services at Pair Networks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pair.com\/support\/kb\/categories\/domains\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Uploading Your Files to Your Web Space<\/h3>\n<p>You can use either SFTP\/FTP or SSH to upload your website files from your computer to your Web server. To learn more about using SFTP\/FTP or SSH, visit the corresponding Knowledge Base articles below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"\/support\/kb\/uploading-files-using-ftp\/\">SFTP\/FTP<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/support\/kb\/connecting-with-ssh\/\">SSH<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Making Your Files Visible on the Web<\/h4>\n<p>Two of the main directories on your Web hosting account are Home and Web. The files and images that you want to make viewable on the internet should live in your<br \/>\nWeb directory. You can access your Web directory from a directory link called \"public_html.\" Your SFTP\/FTP program may have difficulty using public_html. If you<br \/>\nrun into trouble, you can access your Web directory using the path below (replacing \"username\" with your Pair Networks username):<\/p>\n<pre>\/usr\/home\/<em>username<\/em>\/public_html\/<\/pre>\n<p>We recommend creating subdirectories in your Web directory (public_html). One way to create subdirectories is by using the Account Control<br \/>\nCenter (ACC) by following the tutorial below:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are using the Legacy Interface:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into the <a href=\"http:\/\/my.pair.com\">Account Control Center (ACC)<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>File<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Home<\/strong>, <strong>Web<\/strong>, <strong>FTP<\/strong>, or <strong>Mailbox<\/strong> to enter into that area of your account<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Create New Directory<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are using the New ACC Interface:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Log into the Account Control Center (ACC) at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/my.pair.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">my.pair.com<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the top navigation bar, click <\/span><b>Files<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Navigate to the directory where you would like to add a new directory<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>New Directory<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button in the tool bar<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your account does not have a Files interface, you can also<\/span>\u00a0manually create directories using the SSH protocols.<\/p>\n<p>In any Web directory, the Web server looks for a default file. A default file is a file that acts as your homepage. This file must have one of<br \/>\nthese names:<\/p>\n<pre>index.html\nindex.shtml\nindex.cgi\nindex.php3\nindex.phtml\nindex.htm\nhome.html\nwelcome.html<\/pre>\n<p>Our systems look for these filenames in the order presented above. If no such file can be found, a directory listing will be returned instead. Please note that UNIX and Linux, which run our Web servers, are case-sensitive, which means that if you name your index file \"Index.html\" (where Index has a capital \"I\") you will still see the directory listing instead of the index page. For simplicity, you should always use lowercase names for your files.<\/p>\n<h3>Your Website Address<\/h3>\n<p>If you do not have a domain name, your website can be accessed using the information below.<\/p>\n<pre>http:\/\/username.pairserver.com\/<\/pre>\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--info   hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t\"username\" is replaced with your username.    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t\n<p>If you have a domain name, you will have to point your domain name to your website files at Pair Networks. To do so, you will need to contact your domain name registrar and update your nameservers with your new Pair Networks name servers. If you used<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pairdomains.com\/index.html\"> Pair Domains<\/a><span class=\"bodyLink\">\u00a0to register your domain names, you will not have to do anything except add your domain names to your hosting account via the Domain Hosting Management section of the Account Control Center (ACC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you used another company to register domain name, follow Step 4: \"Change Your Name Servers to Point Your Domain Name(s) to Your Web Site Files\" on the page below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/kb.pair.com\/a3\">Point Your Domain Name(s) to Your Website Files<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please contact <a href=\"mailto:support@pair.com\">support@pair.com<\/a> if you have questions about pointing your domain name to your Pair Networks hosted website.<\/p>\n<p>If you choose Dedicated IP domain hosting when adding your domain name to your Pair Networks hosting account, you'll also be able to use an IP address to view your website. This option is not available if you choose Shared IP domain hosting.<\/p>\n<p>If you are waiting for a domain name registration or transfer to be completed, and you've chosen Dedicated IP domain hosting, you can use your website's IP address.
