If you have a custom domain, like <em>example.com<\/em>, you could create email addresses that use it, like <em>admin@example.com<\/em> or <em>john@example.com<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you create a mailbox, you can use it like any other email address. Many use this method when they are trying to conserve disk space on their hosting account. <\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Junk Email Filtering<\/strong><\/td><td>You have the option to use junk email filtering. By default, no junk email filtering is active for your mailbox. <br><br>Finally, when creating a new mailbox, you also have the option to list additional email addresses that will deliver to the mailbox you are creating. Follow the instructions <a href=\"#editing\">here<\/a> on editing your mailbox's settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the mailbox settings screen, enter the password you would like to change to. You do not need to know the mailbox's existing password in order to be able to change the mailbox's password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"kbnote\">    \t\t<div class=\"hts-messages hts-messages--alert   hts-messages--withicon \"   >\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\t<p>\r\n    \t\t\t\t\tChanging your password may take up to 10 minutes to take effect.    \t\t\t\t<\/p>\r\n    \t\t\t    \t\t\t\r\n    \t\t<\/div><!-- \/.ht-shortcodes-messages -->\r\n    \t\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a name=\"detail\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mailbox Settings in Detail&nbsp;<a style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\" name=\"restrictions\"><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Mailboxes can be created on hosting accounts that have email hosting available. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pair.com\/support\/kb\/find-account-details\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">See your account details<\/a> or ask our support team if your account has mailbox options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mailbox Username and Password Restrictions<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The following restrictions apply to mailbox usernames:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A mailbox username must contain at least one letter<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A mailbox username must be 1 to 128 characters long, and may only consist of letters, numbers, dots, and underscores.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"default\" is not a valid username<\/span><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The following restrictions apply to mailbox passwords:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A mailbox password must be at least 8 characters long<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Special characters, including spaces, are allowed for mailbox passwords<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passwords will be checked against a list of unsafe passwords (see below)<\/span><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We will reject passwords that match any entry on a list of unsafe passwords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passwords may be considered unsafe for a variety of reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>they contain user-specific information;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>they contain references to pair Networks or its services;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or they match passwords generally considered unsafe, such as <em>password<\/em>, <em>123456<\/em>, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our list of unsafe passwords will change over time&nbsp; to stay updated on the latest security threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a name=\"size\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maximum Mailbox Size<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When creating or modifying a mailbox, you have the opportunity to set a maximum size for the mailbox. This means that if a mailbox is given a limited amount of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pair.com\/support\/kb\/about-your-account-disk-space-and-bandwidth-usage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> disk space<\/a> it may use. It will be enable to exceed that disk space limit. Limiting a mailbox is an option if you are trying to conserve the amount of disk space usage on your hosting account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By default, no maximum size is set for mailboxes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can set a maximum mailbox size at the time of <a href=\"#creation\">the mailbox's creation<\/a>. You also have the opportunity to add, modify, or remove a maximum size for a mailbox after it is created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that mailbox usage is counted towards your disk space usage. Mailbox usage is recorded daily. At the end of each calendar month, your daily disk usage data is collected and averaged. This is a good option if you are worried about missing legitimate messages, or if you use your email reader to separate junk email from real email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Store junk in the Junk mail folder<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This option moves junk messages to a separate folder, called <strong>Junk<\/strong>, in your mailbox. This is a good option if you are worried about junk messages cluttering up your inbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a name=\"readers\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You Need to Set Up a Mailbox on Email Clients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don't want to use our webmail interface to access your mailboxes, there are various email clients available for your use.
