For example, you may reject an email from a certain address or with a certain word in the subject line. Rejecting addresses is typically used as a way to keep spam from making it into your account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Rejecting Addresses Works<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you reject an email address, your mailbox rejects emails with a matching address in the \"Return-path\" section of the email header. No mail from that address will make it into your inbox until you remove it from the Rejection List.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rejecting addresses only rejects addresses matching the \"Return-path\" header, not the \"From\" address. Using the \"From\" address for rejected addresses may allow undesired emails into your inbox.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find an email's \"Return-path\" header by viewing the email's header. See <a href=\"https:\/\/mxtoolbox.com\/Public\/Content\/EmailHeaders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How to Get Email Headers by MXtoolbox<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using Wildcards in Rejected Addresses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use wildcards to create rules that match variations of an address:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>An asterisk (<code> * <\/code>) matches zero or more characters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A question mark (<code> ? <\/code>) matches exactly one character.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matches <code>support@<\/code> at any domain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>support@*<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Matches all addresses at <code>domain.com<\/code>. An asterisk is not required:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>@domain.com<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Matches all addresses at subdomains of <code>domain.com<\/code>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>@*.domain.com<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Matches addresses such as <code>user@example.com<\/code> or <code>use1@example.com<\/code>, but not <code>users@example.com<\/code> or <code>use12@example.com<\/code>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>use?@example.com<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Be sure to replace the example addresses and domains with the ones you want to reject.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Do I Reject Addresses in the ACC?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can set up rejection rules directly on your mailboxes in the <a href=\"http:\/\/my.pair.com\/\">Account Control Center (ACC)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose the tutorial that reflects your ACC interface type:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#if-you-are-using-the-legacy-interface\">Legacy Interface<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#if-you-are-using-the-new-acc-interface\">New ACC Interface<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Not sure what the difference is? See<a href=\"http:\/\/pair.com\/support\/kb\/which-acc-interface-am-i-using\/\"> Which ACC Interface Am I Using?&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If you are using the Legacy Interface:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the Account Control Center (ACC) at <a href=\"https:\/\/my.pair.com\/\">my.pair.com<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>E-Mail<\/strong> in the left sidebar, then click <strong>Manage Junk E-Mail Filter Settings<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll to \u201cAdditional Junk E-Mail Filtering Options\u201d section at the bottom of the page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Add, Remove, or View Rejected Addresses<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two different ways you can add rejected addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add a Single Rejected Address<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first section, under the \u201cAdd Rejected Addresses\u201d header, you can add a single address that should be rejected. Next to <strong>Rejected Addresses<\/strong>, enter the address into the field. You can add any additional comments in the field next to <strong>Comments<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once completed, click the <strong>Add Rejected Addresses<\/strong> button. The address will appear under the E-mail sent with these Addresses will be rejected where possible or marked as \u201cJunk\u201d header.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">The address listed in the \"Return-path\" may differ from the \"From\" address. Click the <strong>Choose File<\/strong> button and select a file with a list of rejected addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The file should be in plain text, with each rejected address on its own line.When the file has been added, click the <strong>Upload<\/strong> button. If the file is formatted correctly, the new rejected addresses will be added to the list under the last header, \"E-mail sent with these addresses will be rejected where possible or marked as 'Junk'\" header.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">The address listed in the \"Return-path\" may differ from the \"From\" address. Due to this, rejecting the \"From\" address only may result in undesired email making it into your inbox.<br><br>See <a href=\"https:\/\/mxtoolbox.com\/Public\/Content\/EmailHeaders\/\">How to Get Email Headers by MXtoolbox<\/a> for instructions on accessing your email header.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Remove Rejected Addresses<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you no longer want an address on the list to be rejected, you can remove it from the rejected address list under \u201cE-mail sent with these addresses will be rejected where possible or marked as \u2018Junk\u2019\u201d header.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Check the box next to the address(es) you would like to remove<br><br>If you would like to delete all rejected addresses from the list, check the box next to <strong>Check All<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Remove Selected<\/strong> button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Confirm Deletion<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once addresses are deleted from the list, they will no longer be automatically rejected or marked as junk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If you are using the New ACC Interface:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the Account Control Center (ACC) at <a href=\"https:\/\/my.pair.com\/\">my.pair.com<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the \u201cAccount Email Settings\u201d section, find <strong>Junk Email Filter Settings<\/strong> and click its <strong>Edit <\/strong>button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the \u201cJunk Filter Settings\u201d section, click the <strong>More junk email filtering options\u2026<\/strong> button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the drop-down, click the <strong>Add, Remove, or View Rejected Addresses<\/strong> option<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add a Single Rejected Addresses<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To add rejected addresses one at a time, use the fields in the \u201cAdd New\u201d section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Rejected Addresses<\/strong><\/td><td>Add a single address to the rejected addresses list.&nbsp;<br>Add addresses one at a time. Once you click the <strong>Add Rejected Addresses<\/strong> button, the addresses will appear in the \u201cManage List of Rejected Addresses\u201d section.&nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Comments (optional)<\/strong><\/td><td>Provide an optional comment to accompany the address. Comments will be shown in italics next to your rejected address in the \u201cManage list of Rejected Addresses\u201d section.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add Multiple Rejected Addresses<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To add rejected addresses in bulk, use the \u201cUpload Rejected Addresses\u201d section:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To upload in bulk, you must create a text file with the addresses. There should only be one entry per line. Once you upload the list, the specified email addresses will appear in the \u201cManage list of Rejected Addresses\u201d section.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that the list must be saved as a text file before it is uploaded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Remove Rejected Addresses<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you no longer want a subject on the list to be rejected, you can remove it from the rejected subject list under \u201cE-mail sent with these subjects will be marked as \u2018Junk\u2019\u201d header.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Toggle the option next to the address(es) you would like to remove<br><br>If you would like to delete all rejected addresses from the list, toggle the option next to <strong>Check All<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Remove Selected<\/strong> button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Confirm Deletion<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rejecting addresses\/subjects is a way to reject emails based on a condition.
