Common 403 error messages look like this:<\/span><\/p>\n<pre><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HTTP 403 Permission Required<\/span><\/pre>\n<pre><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forbidden <\/span><\/pre>\n<pre><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are not authorized to view this page<\/span><\/pre>\n<pre><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Error 403 Access Denied<\/span><\/pre>\n<pre><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Permission Denied<\/span><\/pre>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are some common reasons why the 403 error occurs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"empty\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Empty <span style=\"font-family: monospace;\">public_html<\/span> Directory<\/h3>\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle  \"  >\r\n    \t\t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle__title\">What is it?<\/div>\r\n    \t\t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle__content\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle__contentwrap\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the directory that should store all the website files for your primary domain. When someone types in your primary domain name, this is the directory that will be referenced to get your website data. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your files are stored in another directory, you will get a 403 error.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n    \t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n    \t\t\t<\/div><!-- \/ht-toggle-content -->\r\n    \t\t<\/div>\r\n    \t\t\n    \t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle  \"  >\r\n    \t\t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle__title\">Is it happening to you?<\/div>\r\n    \t\t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle__content\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t<div class=\"hts-toggle__contentwrap\">\r\n    \t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To see if this is happening to you, go to your server and check which directory your website files are in. This will give visitors a place to land when visiting your site. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5>If you already have a homepage...<\/h5>\n<h6>Changing Name<\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you already have a home page, but it\u2019s not named <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">index<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you can change its name (and edit the name in the pages linked to it).<\/span><\/p>\n<h6>Changing Default Homepage<\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can change the default home page in the ACC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Choose the tutorial that reflects your ACC interface type:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"#if-you-are-using-the-legacy-interface\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Legacy Interface<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"#if-you-are-using-the-new-acc-interface\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New ACC Interface<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not sure what the difference is?
