Getting Started with Your Weebly Hosting Account

Weebly Hosting

Weebly Hosting is a great option for those looking for a streamlined site building experience. With an easy-to-use, visual website builder, you can build a stellar website without any prior programming or site building knowledge.

To get the most out of your new Weebly Hosting account, we put together this in-depth walkthrough of account basics.

This article will walk you through:

If you have any questions not answered here, reach out to our 24/7 support team.

Account Walkthrough

You can access your account at my.pair.com

Once logged in, you will see the Account Control Center, or ACC for short. This is where you will go to access the Weebly Site Builder, manage email, and other account details.

While we will take you through a few places of note, there’s a lot of functionality built into each hosting account. Consider exploring your account after the walkthrough to find additional perks of hosting with Pair Networks.

Weebly Site List

When you first log in to the ACC, the homepage displays a list of sites on the account.

If this is your first time logging in, there will only be one site listed. This site was generated when your account was created.

You can jump right into editing this site, then switch your site to a new domain (URL) later or you can create a new one.

You can also access this page by going to the left sidebar, clicking Weebly, then selecting Manage Weebly Sites

Next to your listed Weebly sites, you can click the Action button to reveal a list of actions you can take on your site. Actions include:

Edit SiteClick this button to access the Weebly Site Builder.
Change TitleClick this button to change your Site's Title.
Change URLClick this button to change your site's URL. See Domain Management for more information about domains.
Change PlanClick this button to change your Weebly plan. Note that this plan is separate from your Weebly hosting account.

Email

Your Weebly hosting account comes with custom mailboxes. This means you can set up your own custom email right on your hosting account. This email can send, receive, and manage your inbox, just like any other email address.

To get started with your custom email, go to the left sidebar and click the Email tab. A drop-down will appear with various options pertaining to email management. See our email tutorials for more information:

Support

Your Pair Networks hosting account comes with 24/7 support every day of the year. If you ever run into issues, have questions, or would like a little help with your account, our support team is ready.

You can submit a support request directly in the Account Control Center by:

  1. Clicking Support in the left sidebar
  2. Clicking the Send a Support Request tab
  3. Filling out a support request and submitting it

You can also find other helpful support items under the Support tab, including:

  • Current support requests
  • Pair’s contact information
  • System notice customizations

You can also reach out to the support team via our website’s contact page.

Domain Management

Do you want your site to have a custom URL, such as libsyn.com or pair.com? If so, visit the Domain Management section.

Domain names are custom URLs. You can register domain names for a year at any domain registrar or in the Account Control Center.

From the Domain Management tab, you can:

  • See any non-Weebly domains on your account
  • Register a new domain name
  • Transfer an already registered domain to Pair

If you don’t have a domain of your own yet, you can register one:

  1. Click the Domain Management tab
  2. Click the Register a New Domain Name tab
  3. Follow the steps on the next pages to register a domain

Domain names are unique. This means if someone has already registered a domain name, it will not be available for registration. You may need to try a few different domain names before finding one available for registration.

For more information about domain names, check out pairdomains.com.

If you registered a domain name elsewhere, you can enter it when creating a new site or by changing the URL on an existing site

Pointing Nameservers

In order for your account to use a domain name, you need to “point” its nameservers to the account.

When you add a domain to your hosting account, you will be given nameservers. You must take these to your domain registrar and change the nameservers there to match the ones given to you. Each registrar is different, so exact steps may vary.

If you registered a domain in the ACC, then Pair Domains is your registrar. To change your nameservers on Pair Domains, see this article: Changing Domain Name Servers on Pair Domains.

Finding Your Nameservers

Not sure what your nameservers are? Here’s how to find them:

  1. Log in to your Weebly hosting account at my.pair.com
  2. Find your website in the Weebly Site List. Be sure that the website is using your domain. If it's not, change your site URL to match the domain or create a new site with it.
  3. Click this site’s Action button
  4. Select Domain Information
  5. Your nameservers are listed under the Nameservers section

Once you have your domain’s nameservers, return to your domain registrar and enter the new nameservers into their system. This process may differ depending on your registrar. Consult your registrar for exact steps.

If you registered a domain in the Account Control Center, your registrar is Pair Domains. See this article for exact steps: Changing Domain Name Servers on Pair Domains.

Building Your Website

Now that you’re familiar with the Account Control Center basics, you are ready to build your site.

When you first created your account, we created a placeholder website for you. You can either use this, or create a new site

Changing Your Website URL

When your account was first created, we automatically created a Weebly site for you. This site uses a randomly generated pairsite subdomain. You are welcome to use this domain for as long as you like.

However, you can move your site to another domain at any time. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Return to the Weebly Site Builder Page.

You can do this by clicking the Pair icon in the top left corner or going to Weebly > Manage Weebly Sites.
  2. Find your site under "Weebly Sites"
  3. Click your site’s Action button
  4. Select Change URL from the drop-down
  5. Choose a domain option, then select or write in your custom domain

Move Site to another Domain on Your AccountIf you already have a domain on the account, you can select this option, then choose the domain from the drop-down.

If you select a domain that already has another Weebly site on it, your new site will swap its domain with the old site. If the site on the domain is not a Weebly site, it will be overwritten.

Please note: domains will not work on a hosting account until you point your registrar’s nameservers to the hosting account.
Add a new Domain Name for this siteIf you have a custom domain not yet added to your account, use this field to enter your domain name.

Please note: domains will not work on a hosting account until you point your registrar’s nameservers to the hosting account.
Add a new Subdomain for this siteYou can create a subdomain for your site by using this field.

Enter the first part of your domain into the empty field, then select the main domain from the drop-down.

While still a part of the domain, a subdomain helps you separate your domain into different sections.

Subdomains examples: example.domain.com, promos.pair.com, mysite.pairsite.com
  1. Click the Add Weebly Site button

The next page will show your new site details. If you added a new domain, then your nameservers will be displayed on the next page as well. Be sure to point your nameservers so that your domain functions as intended.

SSL

We offer SSL certificates for security. These certificates not only encrypt traffic between your site and visitors, it may also show your visitors that your site is secure with an official site seal, security lock, or green browser.

If a website does not have an SSL certificate, browsers may warn visitors that a site is unsafe.

We offer PairSSL to Weebly accounts. PairSSL is a paid SSL certificate that comes with  relying party warranty, Site Seal, and support.

For more information, visit our PairSSL product page

To add a PairSSL certificate to your account:

  1. In your Weebly account, click the Security tab
  2. Select the Manage Your SSL tab
  3. Next to your chosen website, click Order SSL
  4. Choose a PairSSL tier, then select Order Now
  5. Complete the signup process
