Learn how to install WordPress plugins in your WordPress Admin interface.
This video will go over how to install WordPress plugins on your WordPress site. The easiest way to do this is from the WordPress admin panel. So log in to your WordPress site’s admin interface through the ACC. And once you’re in the admin interface, click Plugins in the left sidebar. This will take you to the plugins interface. There, click Add New button. A browsable directory of plugins will appear. You can look through these or do a specific search. Once you have picked out a plugin, click on Install Now.
Many plugins require or allow for some customization or configuration of their setup. A great place to find information about configuring your plugin is from the plugin’s entry in the WordPress Plugins Directory, where we just were to find a plugin. A plugin’s page will typically list support information, a link to an external page where you can learn more about the plugin, or other installation and configuration information.
You can also install WordPress plugins manually. It is generally advised that if you can install the plugin automatically, then you should do that. However, if you do need to install a plugin manually, you can do so by first installing the plugin to your local machine. Make sure you are familiar with the plugin’s installation instructions. Next, open an SFTP client and copy the plugin folder from your local machine to the wp-content/plugins folder on your server.
After you do that, log back into the WordPress admin interface and click Plugins. If the plugin is properly installed and configured, you may click Activate to start the plugin.
