Pair Site Builder is a Pair add-on that makes creating a site easy. Built to work with WordPress, the Pair Site Builder gives you a polished website in minutes with no need for complex code.
Step 1: Create a website with Pair Site Builder
Follow these steps to create website with Pair Site Builder:
- Log in to your Managed WordPress Hosting Account at my.pair.com
- In the left sidebar, click WordPress
- In the drop-down, click Create Site
- Fill out your new site’s details:
Email Address | This email address will receive important updates and information about the website. |
Site Nickname | This is a nickname for your website. |
Site Title | This is a title that will display on your website. You can later change this in the WordPress admin interface. |
- Check the box next to Pair Site Builder
- Select your preferred domain type. See What Types of Domain Hosting Are Available?
- Click the Create button
This will begin the site creation process. A new page will load with important site information:
Site Nickname | This is the nickname you set for your site during setup. |
Site Title | This is the title you set for your site during setup. |
URL | This is the URL for your website. Add /wp-admin to this URL to access the WordPress admin interface login page. |
Admin Username | This is the admin username you will use to log in to your website’s WordPress admin interface. |
Admin Password | This is the password you will use to log in to your website’s WordPress admin interface. |
Nameserver | This is the first nameserver for your new website. Nameservers are used to point a custom domain to your website. See Finding Domain Nameservers on Managed WordPress Hosting Accounts to find the nameservers again after initial setup. |
Nameserver 2 | This is the second nameserver for your new website. Nameservers are used to point a custom domain to your website. See Finding Domain Nameservers on Managed WordPress Hosting Accounts to find the nameservers again after initial setup. |
This page will only appear once, so be sure to write down the important information before navigating away.
Note: Your new website may not be immediately accessible. Please allow for a few minutes while the site is set up.
Step 2: Answer Questions About Your Website
The next step is to log in to the WordPress Admin interface of your new website and answer a few questions about your website. Pair Site Builder will use these questions to build you a site that will fit your needs.
- Log in to your new website’s WordPress admin interface. You can access your website’s WordPress admin interface by taking its URL and adding /wp-admin to it.
Example: mywebsite.com/wp-admin, example.pairsite.com/wp-admin - Once there, enter your new website’s admin credentials. These were given to you in the last step.
Forgot your password? See Resetting the WordPress Admin Password in the ACC. - Once logged in, answer a few questions about your website goals. These questions will help Pair Site Builder create a site for you.
What is your WordPress site about? | Use the search bar to find the type of organization that best describes your site. |
What is the name of your site? | Write the name of your site in the textbox. |
What are your goals for your website? | Check the box next to any goals that match your site. You may select more than one. |
Pick a design for your site. | Pick a design that you think best fits your site. You can personalize this later. |
Pick the pages you want to add to your site. | Check the boxes next to pages you want to add to your site (uncheck boxes for pages you do not want). You can click the eye icon to preview the page. Click View More Pages to view a list of additional page types. |
- After you have answered all the questions, the Pair Site Builder will start building your website. This may take a few minutes.
Once the website creation process is complete, you will be redirected to the WordPress admin interface where you can begin customizing your website.
Step 3: Customize Your Website Details
Once in the WordPress admin interface, you can use the Pair Site Builder Site Assistant to customize your website.
1 | Site Assistant | Click this tab to access the Pair Site Builder tool. |
2 | Task Area | Use this area to begin working on website building tasks. This area will change based on what task is selected under the Site Guide heading. |
3 | Site Guide | This is your website to-do list. Select the website task you want to tackle. Selecting new tasks will change the task area. |
4 | Quick Links | Use the quick links section to execute common website actions, such as creating a new page or post. |
5 | Website Tools & Plugins | Use the Website Tools and Plugins area to integrate popular add-ons into your site. |
6 | View Site | Use the View Site button to view your website. |
