What Are Subpages?
Subpages are subordinate to another page. The superior pages are called the “parent” pages.
If a subpage and their parent are displayed in a navigation bar, the parent page will be displayed as a tab and the subpage displayed in the drop-down.
Adding Subpages in Weebly
Adding subpages is easy with Weebly’s drag-and-drop methodology. Simply follow the steps below to create your own subpages:
- Click on the Pages tab in the top navigation bar
- Add a new page or use an existing one.
- To see how to add a new page, visit our Adding Pages to Your Weebly Site article
- Drag and drop your preferred page under (and slightly right of) your preferred parent page
Subpage Alignment
Make sure the new page is aligned further right than its parent page. If it’s not, then the page isn’t registering as a subpage.
If this is the case, pick it up and re-drop it in the correct position. The outline you see when dragging the new page will show you when the new page is in the right position.
It is also possible to make subpages of subpages. Simply drag a new or existing page under an already existing subpage, align even farther right than the subpage before, and drop it.
If a subpage of a subpage is displayed in the navigation bar, it will create a two-tiered dropdown.
