Learn more about the directory that contains files that will be viewable on the internet.

If you log in to the Account Control Center and click the Files option in the left sidebar, you will see a drop-down full of directory names. In this video, we’re going to focus on the Web directory, which is the second option. The Web directory is the same as the public_html directory. All content that you want to be publically viewable on the internet should be in this directory or a subdirectory of this directory. The filepath for this directory is listed up here at the top of the page.

If you have registered a domain, it will show up as a subdirectory in this directory. Upload your website files to the domain’s directory to make the website viewable on that domain’s URL. Keep in mind that uploading the website files to the Web directory will not make the website viewable from the domain URL. The files need to be uploaded into the domain-specific directory within the Web directory.

And that’s our brief overview of the Web directory. If you have any questions check out our Knowledgebase or contact our support team at support@pair.com.
