Learn how to change your homepage in the Account Control Center (ACC).
Transcript:
Hi. Sean here and we’re covering how to change the index page for your website – not necessarily edit the index page, but change the name of it. Sometimes the default name is index.html or index.php and sometimes people want it to be home.html or whatever, what have you.
So there is a way to do that in the Account Control Center. Log in to the ACC, click on Files, and then Web. Navigate to the directory that you want to work with here click on that and then we’re going to go up here to these little buttons up top of the screen here and click on Web Settings and the very first item here is Index Page – set the default index page types. So click on that and we get a list of index file names here: index.html, index.shtml, index.cgi, index.php, etc. These are all the default settings on our web servers. These could vary from web server to web server, but this is how pair does it and so if we want home.html to be the first page they look at, we just type in home.html here, and a space and if home.html exists in the web directory, the web server is going to see that, say that’s the page for me to serve and if you want to make sure that that’s the first one you serve, you can delete out the other ones or you can just leave them all in there it’s totally up to you. click Update and it says “index pages updated” and that’s all there is to it. If you have questions check out kb.pair.com or email us at support@pair.com. Have a great day.
