operates a registrar, pairNIC, which handles registrations for .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, .INFO, and .US. If you need hosting under other top-level domains (TLDs), or prefer to use another registrar, you are more than welcome to do so. pair Networks will configure our nameservers for any domain name you choose, allowing you to complete the registration elsewhere easily.

Yes. The $5 fee is our fee to host the domain name. The $5 set-up fee applies to each type of domain hosting: Dedicated IP, Shared IP, and Parked.
The $5 set-up fee does not cover the creation or maintenance of the domain name through any registry or registrar. If you register a domain name via our Account Control Center (https://my.pair.com), your $5 domain hosting set-up fee will be waived.
Yes, definitely. You can do this with any of our accounts. The only restrictions are that all sites must be maintained by the
same individual or group, and the disk and transfer (bandwidth) allowances are shared between all sites on the account.
No, you are not required to have a domain name on your account.
You may also use a pair Networks SubDomain, which function exactly like regular domains, but which end in "pairsite.com."
Please note that some pairsite.com subdomains have already been reserved.
You can also use the URL "http://wwwXX.pair.com/username" where "XX" is your server number and "username" is your pair
Networks username to access your Web site if you do not have any domain names on your account.
Our default hosting option is Dedicated IP domain hosting, which allows a unique IP address to be associated with the domain name. However, when adding a domain name to your account, you can choose the Shared IP domain hosting option, which allows your domain name to still have its own Web space on your account but allows the domain name to share an IP address. There are no monthly fees with the Shared IP option, and there is a $1/month fee for the Dedicated IP domain hosting option.
Absolutely. You may choose to use any registrar under any top-level domain (TLD) that suits your needs. will configure nameservers for your domain name and provide that information to you. We can host any domain name you like. You can find a list of registries for top-level country code domains here.
It depends. If your account type comes with multiple FTP logins (Advanced account or higher), you may set up users to access specific directories.
If your account type doesn't allow multiple logins or you need more than what's provided, you will need to open separate accounts. offers discounts on such arrangements through our reseller programs.
If you only need to allow a separate individual or group to access the e-mail addressed to a domain name, you may do that by configuring one of your account's mailboxes to receive e-mail for that domain name.
This requires two steps:

Submit the domain name to us through the Account Control Center
(for an existing account) or as part of a new account signup.

Modify the name servers with your registrar.

If you wish to take advantage of our integrated registrar service, pairNIC, that cannot be done at the same time you are modifying the name servers. You may, however, choose to transfer to pairNIC afterwards.
Yes. If you host example.com with us, then you may also create and host othername.example.com. No registrar interaction is
required, and each such subdomain can use either Dedicated IP, Shared IP, or Parked domain hosting.
To create a subdomain of a domain name that is already on your account, follow these simple instructions:
- Log into our Account Control Center (https://my.pair.com)
- Click "Domain Hosting Management"
- Click "Add"
- Click "Add a SubDomain of a Domain Already on Your Account -- newsite.example.com"
- Enter the subdomain name, and select the type of subdomain that you wish to add
- Indicate how you want the domain name to be mapped
Yes. All e-mail addressed to your account and its domain names will, by default, come to your account mailbox. For more details, please read the frequently asked questions about e-mail.
