E-Commerce - Using MIVA Merchant
Your store's administrative interface can be accessed through one of two URLs:
Regular : http://www.example.com/Merchant/admin.mv?
Secure : https://commerce.pair.com/~username/Merchant/admin.mv?
In the first URL, example.com should be replaced with your domain name. In the second, replace username with your account username, and make sure you are using the SSL address of your server. (If you are not sure, see your Miva welcome message, or check the list here.)
Make sure you are using the following settings under "Mall Settings" (the second option in the menu on the left-side of your admin interface):
Root Directory for Graphics: /Merchant/
Base URL for Graphics: http://www.example.com/Merchant/
Secure Base URL for Graphics: https://commerce.pair.com/~username/Merchant/
As before, be sure to substitute in your own username and the SSL address of your server.
Make sure you have the following settings under "Module Paths" :
Root Directory for Modules: /Merchant/
Secure Root Directory for Modules: /Merchant/
To find these settings, for Merchant 1.x click the arrow next to Modules and select the first link. For Merchant 2.x, Click on Domain Settings, and then the Site Configuration tab.
Support for Miva Merchant is provided by the Miva Corporation through Web-based discussion groups, and mailing lists, which you can gain access to at: http://miva.com/support/
Yes, you will need your own credit card merchant account, with any system or service you set up on the web if you wish to accept credit cards. If you already have a merchant account and a method you are currently using to run charges, you may be able to continue to use that account/method. Miva Merchant supports a variety of credit card processing services. Please contact us if you are unsure if it supports the service you are already using.
If you need a credit card gateway or merchant account, e-onlinedata can get you set up quickly, and at a reasonable cost.
