We recently added new E-mail Mailbox delivery options to the pair
Networks Account Control Center (ACC). Here's how you can take
advantage of Mailbox recipes to improve your E-mail delivery
performance.
The Mailbox recipe allows you to deliver e-mail addressed for any e-mail
address in one of your domains, to any other e-mail box configured on
the same account. The e-mail address doesn't need to be in the same
domain name as the mailbox you're delivering to. You can even deliver
e-mail from all addresses in a domain to a specific Mailbox.
Before Mailbox recipes were available, the only way to have multiple
e-mail addresses deliver to one Mailbox was to set up Forward recipes.
Unfortunately, Forward recipes cause e-mail to be delivered twice
instead of only once, before reaching your Mailbox. They also prevent
some of a Mailbox's junk mail filtering options (including Greylisting)
from applying to e-mail forwarded to that mailbox.
Mailbox recipes deliver e-mail more efficiently, by sending messages
directly to the mailbox instead using external e-mail forwarding. They
always follow the junk mail filtering settings of the Mailbox they
deliver to. You can optionally specify an IMAP folder other than INBOX
that will receive the e-mail.
There are several ways to manage your Mailbox recipes. The Add Mailbox
and Edit Mailbox pages in the ACC have a "More Options" section that
shows you all e-mail addresses that currently deliver to the Mailbox
you're configuring, and let you add and remove e-mail addresses for the
Mailbox.
If you prefer to add Mailbox recipes directly, you can use the Add
Recipe or Add Multiple Recipes interface to add them. Recipes added
this way show up in the More Options section for the Mailbox they
deliver to.
Any customer who currently uses Forward recipes to deliver e-mail to
another mailbox hosted on the same web hosting account should update
their E-Mail delivery instructions to use Mailbox recipes instead. This
new feature provides superior performance and better junk mail
filtering.
