Technical Writer Position Overview
Under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Business Development, the Technical Writer is responsible for developing and distributing internal and external corporate communications; planning, creating, and delivering training materials; plus, various business development tasks.
Essential Duties Include:
- Plans and creates internal corporate communications
- Plans and creates external corporate communications
- Reviews, revises, and creates internal and external technical documents
- Works with all departments to developer technical communication deliverables
- Plans, researches, and develops company newsletter and podcast
- Creates advertising and marketing material copy
- Works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to brainstorm, research, and create training materials and seminars
- Gives training presentations and seminars to the employees directly or works with SMEs to deliver the training and seminars
- Completes various projects, assignments, and research as directly by the Executive VP of Business Development
Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree and/or experience in a related discipline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Technical skills, including an understanding of UNIX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX are a plus

- Experience with network programming (Sockets and TCP/IP)
- Experience developing code to specifications as part of a team
- Experience with mod_perl, and RDBMS such as MySQL and PostgreSQL strongly preferred
